CRKT Berserker Axe
A battle cry in axe form. Get a glance of the Berserker™ /bur-zur-kr/ Viking-style axe and you know trouble’s coming; if you’re an unsplit round, that is. The long cutting edge of the bearded axe blade is a powerful companion for big-swing jobs, fine slicing, and everything in between.
For designer Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, the well of creative inspiration is bottomless. The proof is in this powerfully reminiscent Viking-style axe that features distinctive RMJ design touches. The utilitarian bearded edge is built for taking a big bite out of a sapling, but choke up on the Tennessee hickory handle and the carbon steel blade readily slices a thick tomato for your cast iron creation.
A traditional Viking axe makes for an anything-but-typical camping companion.

CRKT Freyr Axe
Norse design with a soul that’s all American. Why meddle with an axe shape that has been tried and true for over a thousand years? That’s the logic designer and veteran Elmer Roush brings to the Freyr™ tactical axe. The deep beard echoes Viking style. But its balance and pure burliness boosts it into a contemporary league all its own. Shield and Viking battle cry not included.
Elmer Roush of Brasstown, North Carolina has one foot definitively in the past. When it comes to designing axes, that is. Though the Freyr’s™ deep beard might not be put to use drawing back an enemy’s shield as it would have in Viking-patrolled seas of lore, the balance it adds elevates this axe to a modern workhorse. Named after the Norse god of prosperity, its Viking soul stands up to its classic appearance.
The blade itself is hot forged of carbon steel and receives a passivation treatment for ultimate corrosion resistance. It’s met with a handle carved of Tennessee hickory and is precisely crafted for durability and ease of use.
If it’s true that history repeats itself, then this utilitarian axe is definitive proof.

CRKT Woods Chogan T-Hawk Axe
Build a Nice Log Cabin Fire. Heck, Build a Nice Log Cabin Home.
This CRKT two-handed camp axe with a hickory handle, hot forged blade, and hammerhead will make your life easier when you’re off the grid.
Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical in Chattanooga, TN designed The Woods Chogan™ T-Hawk. A specialist in applying modern engineering to centuries old tool and weapon concepts, he is upping the ante once again with a new outdoor line of tomahawks that swing as big as the open wilderness where they’re found.
The design for this CRKT T-Hawk evolved from the popular and original tactical tomahawk series. But it’s built for battle with a few old Doug Firs. The CRKT Woods Chogan™ is made from a solid chunk of 1055 carbon steel that is hot forged into a rock-solid head that features a hammer finish. With primary and secondary edge bevels that are flat ground, it cuts through timber like a beaver. A hammerhead is useful for pounding in nails and stakes for the tent you’ll put by your roaring fire.
The thick wood handle is made in the USA from Tennessee hickory. It's comfortable in hand and sealed with a lacquer coat that adds durability whenever you're in the backcountry—in other words, all the time.
